My current bog-reading is a tome entitled "End to End Stuff", picked up relatively cheaply from Asda.

Essentially a book containing lots of trivia snippets about the game, I wouldn't recommend it. The gadgey who wrote it turned me against him when he included our fanzine in his list of appropriately named fanzines, but entitled it "They Hang Monkeys, Don't They?"

Dickhead.

Anyhow, during my late night evacuation last night, I read a snippet that in the mid-80s Ian Bennyworth was transferred to Scarborough from (I think) Nuneaton for £1,500

The author alleges that Scarborough were unable to afford the transfer fee, so Bennyworth funded it out of his own cash. Is this true?

(Apologies if this is a well-known snippet of trivia)
