We've just had our bill delivered this morning apparently, we are on a meter and the bill is £170 for the last six months.

Is that bad or good? sctatchinghead

We're not on a water meter, we pay £38.03 per month.

one of the few things I miss about hartlepool, the cheap water bills.
we're on a water meter now and have halved our bills but we pay 55 quid a month and we are obsessed with saving water!!

Water meters were really cheap when first introduced and all the mugs .... oops, that should read...' fiscally aware consumers', signed up for their cheap water ...then .... when enough were reeled in, up go the prices. Eventually we'll all be metered and the price will take off, all in the name of saving the planet of course .... and increasing company profits
The funny thing is, peoples water usage will be little different, which is one of the reasons given for metering and actually trusting people to use it sensibly can work, .... because, there is no limit on the water you use if unmetered, but you don't see people filling the bath and storing it because it's free.

If you opt from non-metered to metered you have the option to change back to non-metered within a year I believe. This should give people enough time to see if there are any major savings.
Of course, as Snowy has said, when more people are on a meter it's very likely that the price will be hiked up.

About 80p a month like, but you to have to boil it when it gets down to less than 97% pure. That information is online, on the radio and TV, and in the newspapers every day.

Buggers in Chinese though.... sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

That begs the question, how do you know the purity percentage?
