I could not get away early enough yesterday to get down to Northampton so I had to endure live commetry from radio tees.

It seemed that during the first half, half a dozen or so of our players could not keep on their feet. Now just why was that so one sided.

I happened to notice a coiled up hosepipe on the touchline - perhaps Northampton had watered the pitch to make it slippery, and their players were armed with deeper studs?

If so, I'd have thought that Pools players might have come prepared with more than one pair of boots, or a change of studs if that's what they do at a pro level.

When I was about 10 I had a pair of boots with short rubber studs for dry conditions, and long plaggy ones for wet. perhaps I ought to dig them out of me mams loft and pass them on to Kyle? He was on his back more than a Boro prossy last night.

Thats what happned at Crewe last season. Pools players all kept sliding about and falling down and our kid blamed me. Apparently it was the only game that Crewe had won in 15 years so it was my fault that they went ot Crewe and lost last season.
