Decisions, decisions. Come home and see The Smyths at The Studio with my mates/Dick Gaughan at the Georgian with my dad OR show my new Glaswegian girlfriend around Carlisle. I know what I want to do and what I'm going to have to do!

FOLK MUSIC...hairy, tone deaf, bearded, dungaree clad, ear stuffing, geetar twanging, real ale supping, droning, denim loving middle class irrtants ....come the revolution I'll have them taken out, stood up against a wall and 're-educated'... come the revolution.

Hairy? I wish.

Tone Deaf. Like punk you mean.

Bearded. Surprisingly few as it happens but they all seem 'to come down from th'ills' for festivals.

Dungaree Clad. Denim dungarees? You can't have it all ways.

Geetar twanging. Just as well, have you heard a Hurdy Gurdy

Ear stuffing. You just can't do that when you're geetar twanging

Real ale supping. Now you're talking, just off for some now with a jeans wearing, middle class folkie who has a Martin and a Louden

Droning. Well the Northumbrian Pipes do. Try and catch Adrian Schofield sometime the master of improvisation, if tattood from head to foot and as gay as bunting.

Denim loving. I suppose you're right but what's the alternative.

Middle Class. What do you expect with all those teachers involved

Irritants. You're dead right, stop them singing and it's not too long before there's a squabble breaks out. Most of em'd cause trouble in an empty house.

Put them up against a wall and shoot them. Well, just go careful there, they destroyed Kim Howells' career. They may be toothless but they're not er.... toothless.

This much is true, put just one in a ground with your football team and they'll cause a loss......

It was a fabulous performance, especially the bluesy instrumentals.

Did anyone go? I had a good look round but it's pretty hard to recognse a face from a writing style!
