He could do what Hughes did and some would vote him driver of the year.

foley - please  - yes he can run fast but so can my dog and she has about the same level of ball control as well - he is not the answer - a broken leg is the only thing that could save his career. A good trier but just can't cut it at this level or league two either - pity.

Totally agree. Foley is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I can't understand Wilson's obsession with bringing him on EVERY week, correct me if im wrong, but i think he's played in all but 1 game this season... He should be warming the bench in the conference or a lower level banghead

foley is no more a midfielder than mcunnie is a right back.

if he leaves mcunnie at right back for the next 2 games at leeds and leicester there could be carnage, but i cant see what other options he has other than to move sweeney or liddle back there.

the problem should have been addressed in the summer because it was clear theres a problem at right back given about a dozen players have been tried in that position in the last couple of years.

the lad has zero positional sense, cant tackle and repeatedly shows his opponent the inside rather than the outside. instead of pushing the player out wide or to the bye line he repeatedly lets him cut in exposing his defence and the keeper.

Totally agree. Against Cheltenham I thought McCunnie was rank - basic positional play was dire and a lack of defending ability. If RH suffers from ability against the better teams, we will be taught a lesson against Leeds and Leicester, so what are the options. If Sweens drops back, then we loose a real threat going forward. Can Power play right midfield? Is Clark approaching fitness? If so can he try Right Back? Can Collins push across? Is there scope for 3 at the back - using Liddle / Clark - or will that leave us badly exposed against decent teams. Think it just brings to light the squad depth and the need for one decent full back to be brought on loan.

That being said we are full of potential going forward and once we sort the probelsm out at the back we should be safe in this league and possible play-off aspirations later on.

I reckon, like

bringing foley on effectively made it 10 against 10 banghead

was a brilliant match, and great entertainment, but Danny Wilson is a tit and I dont like him

humphreys was exposed again and spent a lot of time floundering and on his arse which is a pity as he was rather good against cheltenham (who were bottom) but struggled today against oldham (top).

You can't say that! I know people will say ' oh not again' but I've said for some considerable time that left back is a real problem area. In that position Humphreys is simply not up to the job against the better teams. Div 4 yes, bottom ten of this league, maybe. but put him up against any of the better teams and he will be exposed time and time again.

I know I'm wasting my time because he could drown a dozen kittens on the pitch at half time and some would still vote him mom.

I don't think he had a good game against Cheltenham either and he was poor yesterday but as I've said before he's doing a job at left back it's the managers fault we don't have proper full backs it's a problem that he's never addressed and we will always get exposed against the better teams and especially away from home. McCunnie was shocking yesterday, it was his fault we conceded a soft corner which lead to the first goal. Right back is an even bigger problem than left back.

Chip, I agree. I refer the honourable gentleman to my first post on this thread;

Hopefully Clarky will be fit for Tuesday or Saturday, i think he could do a good job at right back this season. He's a decent footballer and also a good tackler.

its amazing that in the last 10 years or so our youth system hasnt been able to groom a single half decent full back as it is the easiest position on the field to play.

If it's the easiest position on the field to play, how come most teams struggle to fill it? Are you talking about either full back? I can understand that the right full back position should be easy to fill, but with few naturally left footed players, then teams will always struggle to find good quality players to fill the position.

I think hes seen and heard of a few more than that Tree! Been coming to games since the 50's and was celebrating his 65th birthday

I know your game is to wind people up and get a reaction  because its old now, but it still works,

But your quote does prove that you sometimes speak quicker than your brain can think,
a sort of premature ejaculation of the thought and reasoning process.   hey tree?

Everyone in the whole ground laughed when it was announced, not just me. He was drunk right?

Once again the mouth opens and the foot falls into it.

From your exalted position in The Vic, which incidentally always seems to get you home before the final whistle has blown, do you not think that the match sponsors might just have bought the right to meet the player of their choice, and by choosing that player as man of the match, make sure of meeting him in a nice convivial (that's like friendly, right??) expensive private box and shake his hand??

Or should we ask you every week?? 'Cos of course only you know. rolfl rolfl rolfl
