me personally, i would jail anyone caught drink driving, others would consider this excessive.

Spot on with that comment..... I agree. Even though I had been tested 3 times (one breathaliser in the car, 2 in the station and a blood test) for drink and no charges brought to me, i know it was pathetic of me to get on the machine even if it was only 2-3 pints!! its 2-3 pints too many! To say I learnt my lesson is an understatement.

Admitting to liking Oasis should carry a custodial sentence too.

A poor rip off of the most over rated band in history don't do it for me.

The point is the sentence is far too harsh, he agrees he did wrong and accepts that. He knew the risks and the severity of a sentence if caught but it still doesn't make it right that he should have to serve 30 years in a cockroach infested prison, not for 250 foooking speed pills!!!

He is asking for a 2nd chance and he is asking for support in that bid to have his sentence reduced. A lot of people in jail deserve a 2nd chance and he is certainly one of them. He's served nearly 3 years and I think thats enough for the crime committed.

He obviously hasn't any support on here but i'm sure that won't bother him considering he hasn't directly appealed to the board anyway, he has plenty of support elsewhere and hopefully within the next 2-3 years he'll get good news and he'll be released into society and hopefully his time behind bars will make him a better person for it.

By the way, if it was one of your own kids, would you support them and campaign as scotts parents have for an early release?

if my kids were fookin stupid enough to chance it for some dodgy speed in a country with their much-publicised zero tolerance approach, then they're on their own

mamma didn't raise no fool

Best forget it Tree. Some people just don't get multitasking.

If it was my child I'd probably do what I could to try to help him (knowing deep down that I was no doubt wasting my time).
But I wouldn't forgive him for the crime.

If it was my own kid I would be beating myself up for not bringing her up sufficiently prudently to realise that if you fu ck with an unforgiving regime, it will not forgive you. Personal issues aside, if he had spent above a minute in Thailand with his eyes open, he would know that he'd get incarcerated for a long time if he was caught with drugs.

He was, he did. If he was where I am, he'd have got shot. Bang bang, dead. You could try a petition after that, like......

Incidentally, on the corruption thing, a certain cabinet member, elected in the Blair landslide of 98 as an unemployed mother is now said to be worth 17million quid. On a salary of 30-50,000 a year, that's some savings eh?? confised

Perhaps she knew they would win the election in '97, went forward a year and put a wedge on it....

Nah thats the wrong way around....
