I know some of you lads may play in the local football leagues, anyone in the over 40's?

Well the guy above played in the over 40's,was fit as a flea and was my mate and one of the best next door neighbours anyone could ask for.

He had to be flown back from his holiday last week after collapsing, he died yesterday, he has been complaining of back pain for a little while, it turned out to be cancer that had spread to his kidneys and liver, the whole close is devastated.

Colin was one of the good guys, loving wife, 15 year old daughter who goes back to school shortly as head girl, 20 year old son, working hard on an apprenticeship.

Why is life this cruel.

Sorry if you guys don't need any of this but it does help me.

R.I.P Colin, will miss your singing in the garden.

Dave

My dad got a phone call last night at the reserve game, he'd played football with Colin for a lot of years and classed him as a mate so he was devastated. I was quite friendly with his son when I was younger as well, I feel the utmost sorrow for him and his family. Far too young, RIP.

Navy Club I think. He lived on the corner of Felixstowe Close and Catcote Road up the Fens when I was younger but I'm pretty sure they moved towards High Tunstall way.

I'm shocked - that is devastating news. He played with me for the Navy Club last season and we were expecting him to play again this season but we heard he had problems with his back.

He was a good player and a great lad. He loved his football and always played with a great attitude. My condolences go to his family.

Didn't know the lad at all, but I echo all the condolences to his family at this very sad time.

Also to all of his friends, and it seems there are quite a few on here.

I echo what BP & Richard Head have said. Always sad to hear of a death even more so when it's one of life's good guys. Sympathies to his family and his friends.

Times like this are for reflection and it makes you realise on how fragile we are. The tributes on here to the lad are proof enough that he mad an indelible impression on a lot of people, and made many good friends in his life - and he lived life to the full.
Condolences to his family.

Colins funeral was today at St Patricks on the Manor, it was absolutely packed, then on to the Cricket Club West park.

I met people who I have seen at the Cricket Club on Thursday evenings for ages and i didn't even know they knew Colin, one guy was is his uncle!

As many people have said on here previously Colin did indeed touch many lives and he would heve been made up at Pools win last night.

Take it easy Colin, rest in peace mate.

Dave
