After scoring the two very well taken goals on Tuesday night does Mr Foley deserve a chance to start the game on Saturday?

He certainly deserves to keep his place on the bench. Him and Porter wouldn't be the first time we've had two strikers on the bench and it also gives us left and right wing cover. Foley for Gibb? sounds like a no brainer*

*Disclaimer: never seen Gibb play like.

I'd go with Joel and Barker then Foley on as sub with 35 mins left if things aren't going to plan. If they are going to plan, bring him on with 15-20 mins to go as his ball retention is excellent and he'll keep the ball in the Donny half.

The team should be......

..................................Jan Budtz..........................

McCunnie..............Nelson..............Antwi............Elliott

...................Sweeney........Boland........Liddle............

.......................................Brown.............................

...........................Barker..............Foley.....................

note - I wouldn't complain if Clark was slotted in the defence.........

keep him on the bench but give him a little extra few mins each time till he has the stamina for a full game
which he probably thinks he can manage already

When you consider how Cooper used to play Porter - getting him to run himself into the ground for 60-70 mins then sending a fresh striker on - with such devastating effect then I suppose Porter starting and Foley taking over for the last 20 makes a lot of sense.

I think people are doing david foley a massive dis-service. The lad scored 2 very well taken goals against a team in a higher league than pools yet very few seem to think he deserves a chance. How negative are you lot? Suggesting that he is only good for 30
Minutes is very patronising, he will still beat offside traps and cause problems from the start.

i am not showing any disrespect to Foley always been an admirer of his
but in professional football it takes seasond pros time to get match fit
he should be nurtured and as i said give just that bit extra every time
it never did Fairclough at the scousers any harm being a super sub

DONT ANYONE DARE SAY BEFORE MY TIME rage

I really don't know who Fairclough is but I know that players a lot younger than Foley have been given chances and excelled. The lads confidence must be sky high,

It would be interesting to know who the 3 people are who think Moore hould start, maybe they have seen something in his game? or maybe they are called Mr Southend, Mr Quakerz and MSN....?

Maybe there are some people who think that if you're going to give something a try you should allow at least, oh, let's say three games to see if it works.
But if Porter starts I have no problem with that either - Danny knows what his plans are; we don't.
