A grand time was had by Mutley & myself up in Scotland.
A fine setting for a festival & small enough to be able to walk around in no time.
Local band The Dangleberries were good fun, bouncy drums & bagpipes in the beer tent Thursday night, not a lot else to be said.
Main Stage -
Max Romeo, reggae legend, always a class act dunno why he didnt do Wet Dream though
The Fall, fell asleep so cant relly comment on what that was all about
Alabama 3,great festival band,in fact great live band at any time
Gary Numan, just an industrial metal noise sound,I get the impression that he only played his 3 hits as it was part of the deal.'Cars' was just a noise,'Are Friends Electric' partially whispered so you couldnt hear & the rest drowned out in the horrible noise.'Down In The Park' was well played & sounded haunting as it should & earns him his 1 out of 10 otherwise he'd have gotten bugger all.
Hugh Cornwell, played a couple from the HooverDam album & gave it a couple of plugs but had the sense to pretty much keep to a Stranglers greatest hits set
K.T.Tunstall was worth 10 minutes or so before we buggered off to the Scooter tent.
The Scooter Tent is dedicated to Punk/Mod/Ska,Neville Staples headlined & was fine, played a Ska/Reggae favourites set but is now just another club act, entertaining enough if youre there anyway but not woth making an effort to see.
There were a few good unknown bands in there though,OI Punk outfit The Merchants were good.Ska band Root System were very good too,but the highlight was a pschedelic garage outfit called The Ray Summers (who can be seen at The Studio in November).
The Dance tent just played a load of banging shite, until 5am Friday & Saturday night right opposite my fecking tent rage
Great festival & top weekend

So let's get this right...you fell asleep during The Mighty Fall, yet watched a dull reggae one-hit wonder like Max Romeo, who didn't even do his one "hit", which only charted because it was slightly rude in 1969?

My God..... sctatchinghead

I think he was taking the piss when he said he fell asleep....but by God The Fall were dreary!!!! confised confised confised

PS....try listening to this album....(possibly one of THE best Reggae Albums ever)....and you'll soon realise Max Romeo is no one hit wonder!!!!
