set up .exe

I have just gone to install a programme & got the message
This installation cannot be run by directly launching the MSI packa you must run the setup.exe
but there is no set up.exe in the folder

Anyone got a clue ?

Pretty straight forward. Whatever you're trying to install is lacking the Windows Installer exe. Unless you're running it off disc (which I doubt) then it's just a lack of a certain file.

download windows installer 3.1 Redistributable and install it, then you should be able to install that other file.

Downloaded the windows installer,but still get the same message when I try to install the programme banghead

I think I may just buy this instead

cant image the program being any good itself if thats all it is getting sold for, why not use nero?

platinum computers used to sell nero pretty cheap just the oem version for a few quid,ask mr muttley to pop in when he next goes for his half lot :laugh:

I dont like nero at all,its an arse about from start to finish & doesnt do covers NTI is far more straightforward & when youre done it automatically does your tracklist on a cover.

Tried opening with windows installer,tried opening with winrar,tried extracting files with winrar which left me with about 70 icons on my desktop every time I start up. banghead

Tigro,thanks for the effort it is appreciated Im just too frustrated with computers after last week to work around this,it will be easier to spend a fiver on Ebay.

Googling this MSI/set up exe thing is doing my head in something rotten so unless anyone can tell me step by step what to do I really am gonna have to give up on this one.
