Finally found story about commemorations of the London bombings three years ago, not top story front page of BBC News or equivalent but on the left hand side of bottom of the UK page under the section More From The News, the 9th story under a threat from pests to plants, a high court battle by the McCanns and further controversy surrounding F1 son of Mosley's Nazi orgy.

Even then there was only a short wreathlaying ceremony, nobody stopped driving at 0850 this morning (the first bomb explosion).

Jesus, 52 people lost their lives that day, even though it wasn't the same as 9/11, could have commemorated better today. rage banghead bbolt

I wouldnt say its fooked but Gordon Brown got me going too. He says supermarkets shouldnt do two for the price of one as it causes waste. Well I think food's well expensive and I always buy two for one as we're skint. He should realise people need this and encourage them to use freezers the div..

Far be it from me to defend Brown but what he was saying was rather than sell two for a pound, sell them for 50p each.

I concur. Obviously he has many good points but how can he fail to know that these don't include social/communication skills, and that therefore he is not PM material. Total lack of self-awareness, I guess.

Bit like Scotty thinking he's manager material

a lot of the older folk on the board will probably agree with the basic principle behind what he was saying. i know i was brought up in hard times and when we were kids we were always made to eat everything on our plate and we can probably all recall eating stuff like pannacklte and cald warmed up.

it was commonplace to eat yesterdays leftovers warmed up again.

but while i can see where he is coming from it, annoys me that i am being hectored by a bloke who abolished the 10 pence basic rate of tax, continues to give tax breaks to the super rich ( the sort of folk that will spend a grand on a meal and a couple of bottles of wine ) and supported a war in iraq that was pointless and has cost the country billions.

We still do eat leftover warm-ups!! I prefer to get takeouts rather than go for a meal - for precisely that reason!!!!

I like to eat panack and dumpling stew the next day anyway!!!!

I have successfully got our lass to adopt my gran's approach to meal-making.

Basically, make loads more than can be eaten by the people it is intended for. Then what's left over can form a full/part meal the next day.

Whenever my gran cooked, it was always done in the big pans, and although most of my family are significant pouchers, I can't recall an incident when anything she cooked was eaten in one sitting.

Just this week we did a load of pasta, with the intention of me having what was left over for me bait. You can't beat it.

Wasting food is almost as bad as wasting beer in my opinion. It always amazes me how many people will leave a pint in a pub half drunk.

When we first got married, we bought a freezer, a huge one and everything left over from meals like vegetables etc was put in containers and frozen. After four months the freezer was full and I aked her what we were gonna do with it it.."Oh ...that's for you...I'm not eating it"....So I threw it all out...she just stared and simmered, the married lads will know what I mean.
