It was featured on the North East news tonight on Tyne Tees. We had one woman of a 'certain age' saying how she'd like to marry him, can somebody tell her the bleedin obvious reason she can't. ....besides which, even if he was a raving hetro, he looked like a bespectacled camp ping pong ball in a organ grinders monkeys suit. The audience all seemed to 58 and consisted of sundry flushed fishwives and harridans accompanied by their hen pecked 'partners'' hairdressers and women who think they can 'cure' him and take him home to meet their mams....Elton said he hopes Darlo get promoted.
It was actually billed as a coup for the entire Tees Valley, from which we would all benefit...well I'm no better off and I still refuse to ackowledge the so called Tees Valley even exists.

I've always wondered about this 'good for the area' shit.

People always say it benefits everyone.

I've never felt any benefit yet.

Will i be getting a share of eltons ticket money from last night then?

Will i get 1% of everything all the hotels will make when the tall ships come into hartlepool.

You might not personally be better off because of something like the Tall Ships coming to the town but there will be plenty of businesses that will be. It's not rocket science, thankfully.

Oh it will benefit the marina.

Come 2010 now fucker will be able to get there anyway as no buses will run, and if you fall over and hurt yourself when your there, need ambulance assistance possibly, i hope you've brought enough taxi fair to get home from stockton hospital!

I was talking to someone at the weekend who had just lost their job, the company they worked for was a management buyout in the late 90's, they were told to work hard and they would be rewarded.. they did, the company was a success, in fact was so succesful a bigger rival bought it out, moved production to their site and shut this plant down. The original buyout team made a mint, the new 'owners' eliminated the competition and the workforce who had made them successful got the bums rush..........

I know, why don't you book a holiday for that time and rent out your house to a tourist/visitor for a few days? Everyone's a winner. You then will benefit directly from the Tall Ships and you won't have to worry about needing a bus or an ambulance.
