THEY WERE 'SURVIVNG... this Pools are in a different world to those days, we understood the circumstances then and made allowances, ...remember?

NO... you are trying to make it sound simple when we all know it isn't and I recall no one saying any such thing, so lets stick to the facts. The 'complacency' is all yours, you are the one prepared to just accept the party line and never question anything, I look at things from a different perspective ...awkward innit? Any comments from the manager raised on this board by posters are always contested by you and it's getting to the stage that any criticism of anything related to the club sets the alarm bells ringing and must be denounced, discredited or ridiculed till it goes away...which makes it all like a swimmer thrashing about in the water...all that fuss attracts the sharks ..... Feeding time eh?

We could finish mid table every season... if it looked like the players gave a shiit for the most part. As long as I know we've tried our best and the best team possible has been put out onto the field then i'd feel I had my money's worth.

How many times last season did you go home thinking team selection, tactics or simple lack of effort had cost us the game?

Many times. In the days of Mcreery and Houchen we we chuffed to stay in the league and the players had to work their bollocks off to achieve it (as they were shit). Staying up felt like winning the premiershit!

The players we have now are better players but dont give a toss hence many suporters are underwhelmed. I reluctantly got a season ticket for the coming year and Im already thinking I will regret it. I see nothing more than a relegation battle although it may at least make the season an interesting one.

Had Ken got off his backside and binned Danny Wilson we would be much more optimistic about the coming season. Instead we have a forward line of Barker/Foley and Porter to look forward to!

I am still waiting for someone to tell me what we have won in the last 10 years.

We had SOME players who worked hard and the occasional skilful player, but on the whole they were unfit, lazy and crap

The vast majority of them couldn't give a fcuk.... Denny Ingram, Stephen Pears, Mark Cooper, Chris Beech etc etc etc


I agree it seemed like we had won the league when we managed to stay up, but this was always done by bringing in better quality players on the transfer deadline day

There's always three options, a rare experience outside a general election:

1. Put up and shut up.

3. Wait and see.

Hang on a minute I acan't believe what you've been saying. I've just finished my A-Levels early and have ten weeks of wonderful summer holiday to fill. I've got nothing to do but wait for my results, euro 2008 is nearly over, the weather's not that good, the play offs finished a month ago....and I'm getting fucking WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS !!!!!!!

Honestly, I can't wait until the matches start and there's something to play for, all meet up etc and have a drink in the pub etc.

Anybody who has no passion for Pools this season should get out, because passion is an important to have as a person and you should always have it for your favourite football club !!!!!

Which uni are you going to in Liverpool then Mr Kentish. As you probably know you've got a choice of three, Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores and Liverpool Hope. From my ancient observations there's a good student based music scene around the City Centre and I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Strange thing in Liverpool is that I always found it safe on the basis that there's not as much gratuitous violence as you might imagine. Any trouble tends to be associated with 'business' and if you get into trouble it's serious, like getting shot I mean. Careful with those hubcaps though.
