Aye, the Turks played out of their skins, I wonder if any of the England players watched and took notice......

no chance. If it's penners the others may as well walk off. Motson said they've scored their last 21 in shootouts - and this in a period they are supposedly "ordinary"

They played so well tonight....and with so many players missing!!!! confised banghead

Quality game and did anyone else prefer the Commentary tonight when Motson and Tithead Lawrenson went walkabout and were replaced by the Radio team (Waddle????)....I certainly did!!!!

the Germans must have reached the semi-final/final of the World Cup/Euro Championship in at least half the competitions since they began. Some record, like.

I've just looked - they've reached the World Cup Final seven times in 19 tournaments!!!
They've been beaten in four other tournaments at the semi final stage!!
At least the semi final stage 11 times in 18 tournaments that they've definitely entered!!!
I'm not sure they even entered the first one!!

In 13 European Championships they've been in the final 5 times and beaten semi finalists once. This is in 12 tournaments as they never entered the first one.

I want the Germans to win - although I usually go for the underdog, they're the perfect model for England to follow. Although judging by the teamwork of Russia, learning a thing or two from them would help a lot too.
