Would he be a cartwheel signing???

Dee wait over Snodgrass
By Ian Roache and Graeme Dey
DUNDEE ARE remaining relaxed in the face of competition from Hartlepool United for the signature of Robert Snodgrass.

The Dark Blues have had to wait on a reply from the Livingston player after offering him a deal a fortnight ago.

Now the English League One side have entered the equation and will likely beat Alex Rae’s men to it should salary be the crucial factor.

But Pool would have to pay compensation to Livi because of the 20-year-old’s age—potentially pushing a total fee into six figures— so that could cool their interest.

Dundee chief executive Dave MacKinnon was still upbeat, saying, “This doesn’t faze us one bit and we have always known Robert had other options.

“We are in communication with the player on a regular basis and we can only do what we can do.

“Alex and I are continuing to work away behind the scenes and we remain hopeful of signing Robert.

“If he goes to England then compensation comes into it so that could work in our favour.”

I don't think so. If he'd been called Ronaldo Snodgrass maybe.

But if IOR are willing to splash out big time that's goodish news for other reasons.

I think he'd be an impressive signing, for a 20 year old I don't think a £100,000 compensation would put us off we've almost paid that for 30+ aged players in the recent past and there is every chance you'll sell a player player of Snodgrass's age for a lot more if he's good.

We'll never recoup anything on the likes of Barker and Collins and the fees didn't put us off then.
