Is it just me or is there a sudden increase in the number of drivers who are going through red lights in this town??

I seem to see at least one impatient tvvat doing it every day. banghead

Today at the junction just up from asda at least 3 cars drove accross me on red. I literally had to brake and wait 5 seconds or so after my light changed to green.

Oh and is it just me or has Hartlepool got the worst drivers in the whole of the UK? It is never as bad when I drive out of town.

Are those the ones near pools Grave? My Dad, who is a Driving Instructor, reckons they are set wrongly. Like you, he was sick of people doing this (he probably sits at those lights 30 times a day bear in mind) and he wrote to the Council last month about it.

I have often thought that the lights were set wrong there but the incident today was ridiculous. The other lights had definitely changed to red coming up from Church St and yet 3 cars felt the need to rush through.

ps, your dad tought me to drive. Pity he didnt teach every other tom, dick and harry in this town otherwise the drivers may all be as good as me!

Another junction I use daily is the the lights at the top of Park Road where the cars coming into town try to pull out from Elwick road into the one space left for them and just block Wooler Road...I also want to strangle thoseame drivers at the junction who just love to wave every car out because they get some sort of perverted arousal when the other drivers acknowledge them..... it's not a f*****g popularity contest for fooks sake

I always find that the best response to people who block the traffic to let people override the give way junctions is to get out of the car, open their door, pull them into the road and kick the living shit out of them, urinate on their prostrate bodies and then throw the moistened bloodied corpse on the bonnet of the car they allowed out of the junction.

It's rare that you'll see a repeat performance.

rolfl rolfl rolfl

I will try that next time.

ps, another thing i hate is when at a crossroads someone flashes an oncoming car which is wanting to turn right thus allowing them to cross in advance of the driver but holding the rest of the cars behind the driver up. I have no problems with this if the car waiting to turn right is blocking all the cars behind him but usually the car turning right will be in its own 'turn right' lane so wont be holding up those cars wanting to go straight on. (hope that makes sense but it probably doesnt!!)

The ones I really despise are the tvvats at the Tesco roundabout on both the Stranton and Burn Road side who shoot up the outside of the traffic queue then arrogantly go straight across cutting you up .... bastards.

Indeed, but is it not better for both lanes to be used at the roundabout to help traffic flow. 1 line of six cars is surely not as good as 2 lines of 3? There's no need to cut up as it's two lanes on the other side too.

er...no it isn't...it is on the dual carriagewy obviously, but the markings on the stranton side of Burn Road are for one car only, both Burn road east and west are only one lane wide....it's a result of ignorance or arrogance.

Sorry, I thought you meant going the other way. North to south and vice versa.

I've got the scars to prove it... well the car has...even if I'm not going to Tescos' and one of these queue jumpers pulls up alongside me..I AM...if you follow my twisted logic. If you time it right, they have to go round the roundabout again..

you can also do this at the roundabout with the balls on it at powlett road / marina way the amounts of cars who blast down the outside then decide to go left apparently it is a nice roundabout to go round
