Didn't Tiger Woods take time out when his father was critically ill?

Nick Faldo was as single minded as they come in this respect, and put golf above everything.
How many marriages did he go through. Being a father and husband is important too and a balance has to be found. Storm has lost a bit of form...............it happens. We'll see if he can recapture it. I hope he does.
Right at the top of my mountain is the experience of watching my daughter come into this world...................priceless.

This bloke was having the time of his life in sporting terms. He was up there with Europes best golfers. He retained his card and won a tournament last year. This got him into some of the top events in America.

This year it is Ryder Cup year. He had a great chance of being the first peron from hartlepool to ever represent Europe in it.

So what has he done?

Whilst all of the other golfers have been palying and earning points........."our" golfer had took time out to be with his pregnant wife. He took a whole 6 weeks off.

He has returned to playing now, and has promptly missed three consequetive cuts.....the worst being last week in America where he finished close to last out of 160 players.

Why is it sportsmen, some of them, in this country have an attitude like a wet foookin blanket.

If I had been lucky enough to be in his position, I would have been out there making as much money as possible whilst I was hot.

But no......the good politically corrrect englishman decides to give up for a couple of months.

This isnt just about Golf, but its a losers mentality we have in this country.

Golf is shite anyway, I don't know why you are getting in such a twist of a middle manger, cufflink wearing, social climbing, bore the life out of anything, 'sport'

He prefers watching Fred Trueman tell us all how to play Bar football. Making sure the working classes stay in the their social clubs and keep wearing their flat caps.

Its whippet racing for you northern monkeys, and be happy with it.

sctatchinghead

Hmmm maybe you would explain that statement to the cable pullers I know who play very regularly, or the plasterers, brickies, joiners, cake packers and sparkies sctatchinghead

Although I don't play golf, I have tried it and manage about 1 game every 3 years if I can be arsed. but I do wear cufflinks, and am a manager...but don't bore the life out of anything quite as much as tunnel visioned people with a distaste for anything they consider not to be working class.

Must dash as its nearly Pimms o Clock

Christ man, you don't have to take EVERYTHING literally you know!

I don't like golf, I think its shite, nothing can persuade me otherwisw and if a cable puller or plaster wants to hit a ball with a bit of wood, fair play to them, like I said I hate golf because I think it's shite and 90% of the people I've met who do play it are arselickers, trying to climb that greasy pole, and I'm shite at it as well!!! (golf that is)

And as for the 'working class' thing, do give over

if you buy a Pukka Pie, they are impossible to eat immediately because they are so hot. I bought one last August and it's only just cooled down enough to hold it.
