I know that Darlo aren't developing the world's leading linguists but why do they insist on using Poolie - the singular - to describe Pools - the plural?

Heard the "Bring on the Poolie" chants and wondered if they thought that it would be a match off 11 vs 1.

Poolies or Pools is fine, but why do they insist on saying Poolie?

It's always confused me that, I've asked them on several occasions why they do it, it's like us singing "bring on the Loid". I've never got an answer but it makes them sound fucking stupid.

I thought it was just me, PJ. It sounds so wrong and yet I've heard a lot of so-called 'respectable' posters from the Darlo boards use it.

I don't think we should bring it up any more though - feeling superior to them isn't something we need their fans to help with

My only guess is that it's almost like saying poorly and the nearest they can get to turning it into something negative. I can understand their fustration though since we're able to turn Darlo into misserable, inbred, league 2 Loid failures
