I really wanted Carlisle to do it. From battling it out for relegation out of the football league with us, Scarborough and Torquay to making it to the 2nd tier would have been an excellent achievment. It still is to get this far.

People forget how far us and Carlisle have come.

We did play rather well last night though which is why our hosts never got going i.m.o. A lovely evening out in Cumbria and good to see our hosts invading the pitch and doing all manner of things which would have brought calls to throw Leeds out of the league had the boot been on the other foot. Any way justice was done in the end as the first goal at our place was from a corner that never was. We've had to cope with refs seeking to give our opponents a leg up all season and it's cost us dear at times.

And oddly enough the ref bottles sending off your player, which was shortly followed by you goal at Elland Road

Still, not to worry, you'll soon be back where you belong and all that dogshite

Steady there Talbot - we know our place. Having spent only one season (todate) in Div 3 we might argue that (historically) we don't belong here - deserve to be here for sure but 'belong here', probably not. Beyond that we've spent many a long year in Div 2 so we arguably belong there! Obviously we see ourselves as a top Premier league side but so would you if you'd spent time up there. But for now it's one game at a time. We have a really hard match ahead and over the years despite bribing referees, paying bungs to anyone who would take one and kicking seven pieces of the proverbial out of every team we've ever played we we do tend to lose the big games. Always intrigued me that! Still every fan in the country - no matter what age - knows this is what we did/do!.

So for me I intend to enjoy my weekend in London. I hope we win but know that we may not because despite what they say size really doesn't matter (at Wembley)! Best thing though is the season just goes on and on and last night was, I have to say, one of the best ever. We all dream of nights like that and dread what the Cumbrians had to suffer.
