....read poems, and wouldn't mind giving occasional opinions on 'em?
Work-shop I go to contains just women and it would be interesting to have a male point of view

I don't want to put 'em on here, for everyone to snigger at

But I will pm them to anyone who doesn't mind giving feedback, and I'll reciprocate if requiired.
I know some people on here write stuff, (as of course you do, Dibbs...splendid pomes to be sure, as I recall)
I know a woman who runs a writing class in Chester-le-Street, where one of the group is a 'Hartlepool supporter with tattoos', but whether he (or she)is a Bunkerite, I don't know

Here is one of my Favourites

There was a young woman from Heaver
Who could pick a pencil up with her.........

I did read the poetry of Robert Frost for my 'O' Level English Lit, and quite enjoyed it :uhoh:

I keep telling myself I like Blake and Yeats and all that, but if I'm honest with myself I find poetry a bit of a waste of time, though I suppose it can be used to good effect in satire.

Frost is an excellent poet, there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's a toss up between Pablo Neruda and Dylan Thomas for my favourite poet.

Poetry in Mandarin must be a bit intriguing, I'd say. No metre, no rhyme???

It's a big thing is Chinese poetry but unrecognisable when compared to the Western stuff.

Have you ever heard a Chinese person attempting to say 'iambic pentameter??'

That's poetry in itself....
