I think the biggest complaint is that they had to wear socks belonging to the opposition!

Dead right too - they could have had hidden mikes, sleeping gas capsules, or anything tucked away in their fibres!

I remember us playing in the Hartlepool Fire Brigade's strip back in the seventies.

It was when the dressing rooms burnt down and incidentally, while our illustrious and wealthy neighbours stood idly by, Hereford United were the only club to help us out by buying us a complete first team strip.

i had been sacked from my previous job and went on a previously booked holiday to benalmadena on the costa del sol and returned on the friday then travelled to mansfield via whitwell to the game and then stopped over and went to chesterfield for a fantastic chinese banquet to celebrate my mates 50th birthday.

also remembered for a famous/infamous mascot chasing the young girl from the pie kiosk about the pitch at half time and mr poolymad and ray shipley having a very heated discussion at the back of the stand.

When we played away at Mansfield 99/00 season didn't Martin Holland wear one of their keepers tops, I remeber we lost 2-0 and I think they scored after about 60 seconds or so
