playing football in south shields. centre half wiped me out, went up in the air, landed with my arm going one way, my shoulder the other, and the rest of my body on top of it.

most painful 2 hours of my life.

the fookers took the penalty while i was sat in the box waiting for the ambulance.

they had to cut me shirt off me in a and e, so i spent four hours sat in shorts socks shin pads and footie boots.

our manager rang me tonight. this is how it went :

him: how are you ?

me : better, the shoulders back in.

him : peterlee drew with gateshead.

me: yeah, thats good.

him : we are guaranteed at least second.

me : good.

him : are you out for the season ?

me : yes.

him : will you be signing for us next season ?

They must be desparate. bbolt

is this the most painful thing in the history of the world ?

when i saw the x-rays showing my arm halfway round my back i didnt believe it was physically possible.

my footballing playing days are now officially over for ever.

im taking up dominoes.

at a decent level of course.

My Missus did the same to her shoulder when she slipped over on a muddy patch in a kids playground and put her arm out to save herself and her shoulder popped out.

She has a dread of ever doing the same again as the pain was unbelievable.

I was in the consulting room when they took off her top and I saw the top of her arm was a quarter the way down her back under the flesh and her shoulder was all malformed.

Bloody horrible!

Get well soon. Fortunately my Missus' right arm is back in full action.

well i think this is what happened with robson, his shoulder kept sliding in and out of the joint. so when it slid out it could be slid back in.

unfortunately with me it didnt just slip out of joint it got pushed halfway round my back.

they reckon it it slips out again the pain wont be so bad.

hopefully there wont be a next time.

anyone else had any excrutiatingly painful shiit happen to them ?

I've had my nose broken 3 times if that's any consolation to you?

The worst pain I had was when I fractured 3 ribs, what makes it worse is that the doctors at the hospital couldn't do anything for me apart from giving me some pain killers.

Get well soon Chip.

Luckily I've never experienced anything like as painful as that.

Was the morphine enjoyable by the way?

You'll still be able to carry out your managerial/coaching duties from the side. If you need a lift, let me know and I can arrange to pick you up.

Agh, that sounds horrible, nauseating even.

As to your question, I concur with Fensy that ribs are a good candidate...don't know why ribs should be so painful but they are. Childbirth is no picnic either........

But Men can't 'do' Childbirth, so it doesn't count bbolt

I know Childbirth is painful, just the mention of it makes the fingers of my right hand ache.

Now I've got that annoying 'lost word' syndrome. What's it called when men get pseudo labour pains uot of sympathy with their wives?

Mmmmmmmm......not bruxism, that's teeth-grinding.......something similar

It wasn't pseudo labour pains, PC insisted on holding my right hand, and squeezing on each contraction, during the birth of our 3 sons. It hurt, I know not as much as she was suffering, but at least she wasn't shouting at me for getting her into the predicament in the first place.

Our lass did the hand squeezing thing but thankfully she applied very little pressure and it didn't hurt at all. Quite surprising considering Ewan was 9 pound odd.

Kidney stones are no walk in the park either, when I had them the doctor told me that it was probably as close to childbirth pains that men can experience

I don't understand this modern thing with the dad being there for the birth. I've already told Mrs R that if she drops one then I have no intention of being within three miles of the hospital while the deed is being done.

I'm with Fenno on this one, ribs. Although Mr Chippington I've never done me shoulder. confised confised

When you do your ribs, EVERYTHING fookin' kills. You can't even blink without nauseating agony and if you cough or fart, you cry it's as simple as that. You can't have your early morning crammer with the newspaper, blow your nose, clean your teeth or owt. Sleeping is just a no-go.

So Mr Fireball, commiserations but mind yer ribs!!
