Can anyone help me

I've just bought one, but cannot run the firmware updates from my PC to the box because it looks as if the supposed rs232 lead supplied is incorrect (female and both ends?)

Anyway, I've plugged it in and its picked up the channels, but I cannot get SkySports etc, as the channels are still encrypted

The document with the box says exit back to a blank screen, press Menu and enter 1 5 7 0

I've tried this, but to no avail

Any ideas???

Menu>1570 does work

if it doesnt your doing something wrong, you also need to turn EMU to on to make it decrypt the channels.

It wont if the firmware isn't up to date, and as I have no COM1 or COM2 port on my PC, I'll have to do it at work

Until you can download the latest firmware to your receiver try this.

Download the Bigmaq toolbar for the latest keys.

press menu
press 1570. (this takes you into secret menu)
Press OK on "nagravision"
Make sure your cable provider is listed at top N*L or T***WEST C&W CHO**S ect
Go down to "Key Number" and check its on 00
Go down again to "Key Data" and input the correct keys
Press OK to store
Go back up "Key Number" and change to 01 using the > button on the remote control
Go back down again to "Key Data" and input the correct keys
Press OK to store
Press "Exit" , Check the bottom option and make sure "Key EMU" is On
Press Ok again
Then "Exit and "Exit" again back to the main TV screen
Then go to a paid channel and should update .

Thing is , when I press 1570, no secret or additional menus appear, i think im fooked until I can get the null modem cable plugged into the mother of a box!

it will work if the firmware is updated or isnt updated as its a secret menu built into the box not the firmware.

Oddly enough it didn't work yesterday, despite repowering the box several times, re-scanning, resetting to factory defaults and going through the thing again, including pointing the remote at the box and t y p i n g 1 5 7 0 and whatever the other 'secret' code countless and I mean fecking countless times

But after upgrading the firmware (the one one the box was from January, I think) to the latest copy, it DOES let me into the 'secret' menu....

I'll let you, dear readers, decided what fixed the 'issue'..............
