Foggy (last of the summer wine) was the same bloke as Barrowclough from Porridge. It's obvious now but I never noticed.

He's dead by the way. No-one had him on their dead list.

I thought he was the original Foggy. Didn't he replace Michael Bates (who played the Indian with the snake belt on his turban in It Ain't Half Hot Mum?)

Originally there was a character called Blamire played by Michael Bates of 'It Aint Half hot Mum' this character was replaced by Foggy so Brian Wilde wasnt one of the original cast members, but he was the original, and only,Foggy.

Michael Bates played Blamire in TLSW then Foggy took over then he left and it was a bloke playing a old school teacher, then foggy came back again.

Michael Bates is dead was well, but he died in 1978 so it's old news really

Brian Wilde also did the dancing skeleton voice over for the (Scotch?) video tapes advert.
