And possibly cheating / bending the rules, again.

Rule now states if club goes into administration after the 4th Thursday of March (funnily enough next Thursday) and they stay up, which they would do then the 10 point deduction comes into place at the start of the following season,by going into administration NOW the points will be deducted straight away.

May just be a coincidence though that they had to do it just over a week before the deadline.

No points come off straight away so will be deducted today.

If go into administration after 4th Thursday in March then the deducted points are suspended till end of the season ,if deducting the points means they would be relegated the points are taken off and the club relegated.

If the club is relegated without the deduction of the 10 points anyway then they start the following season with minus 10 in the lower division.

Not sure what happens if make play offs even with 10 points deducted after the 4th Thursday

No Tom, the deadline is April 4th the points come off now.

It's as if they choose when to go into admin, they obviously do if stories about a certain fax being typed out all ready to send a couple of years ago if the last day of season wasn't going to plan are to believed.

I'd love to see them go out of the league next year. I also think points hit should be greater the second time, it would make sure clubs got there houses in order properly financially.

I do feel for the fans of Rotherham United though at the end of the day they are just like us, makes you appreciate how lucky we are in some ways.

how can they be in so much money trouble again, so soon after effectively wiping out the last lot of debt?
Like I said in a previous post a few weeks back, there are certain clubs, regardless of their true financial situation, and the people who run them/support them, can NOT accept being in the bottom league. Rotherham are one of those clubs, and they used to look down on the likes of Pools for years.
Well, now they can find out what it's like to be perennial no-hopers at the foot of the League for 25 years and see how THEY like it.
