Me and me mate were talking the other night about primary school (Kingsley), and how different things are now.

Whenever there was a 'bad man' alert, the teacher would say to all the class something like "If a man in a red Cortina offers you sweets or to look at puppies, run away screaming. A boy from St Aidans/Rossmere/Rift House was approached at dinnertime."

I remember once a white Escort was the vehicle of choice for the paedo, and one actually parked outside the school on Kinglsey Avenue on the top of the Rec. Cue a full class of kids all running to the window, screaming and flicking V signs at the driver. It turned out to be an old woman walking her dog.

It's hard to imagine something like that happening today.
