We were ok in the first half and down to ten men in the second. We were not as dire as some are making out and had we not have had a player sent off we would have got a point I reckon.

Most of the players worked very hard but I come to the conclusion that our players are of the standard that the league table shows. Too many formerly decent players on show.

but if this is not a crisis, what is? One lucky away point from 30?? There should be a meeting called between the board/owners and the manager over this in my opinion. How much more of this are we going to have to stomach??? If Northampton hadn't missed that open goal at the end, then another defeat in the next game would have seen this bunch equal the club's worst ever run of consecutive league defeats!!! And by Christ we've had some bad teams, how on earth does that come close to being equalled with the supposed quality in our ranks??
If the quality is in fact there, then something else is missing, or not being used - i.e. team spirit, being prepared to throw bodies in the way to block shots/crosses like Cheltenham did here a couple of weeks ago - why haven't Pools defended like that even once away from home this season? Serious questions now have to be asked, with the manager's job being put firmly on the line as a means to an end in the process.

Thats certainly true. I guess the difference is the perspective; some took from yesterday a lack of belief or effort. I came away with the certainty that despite their best efforts, the team is simply not any better than bottom ten. When we play teams above the bottom ten (assuming they're playing well) then we get stuffed. Yesterday, Southend played poor in the first half and we matched their level. Second half, even before the sending off, they upped their game and we couldn't live with them.

Without James Brown, our team is a poor league one outfit and all the shouting in the world ain't gonna change that.

From what I saw Mr I, we were more than holding our own until the sending off, why is it that it's always down to the opposition playing poorly sctatchinghead
And what I also saw was that you were also looking comfortable and wonder how much attention you actually gave to theg bbolt oings on on the pitch
