If Pools actually got promoted to the premiership in the future would you

A) Still support them
or
B) Call them premiersh*te prima donnas and refuse to go and watch

Just wondered like

It depends if any of the players acted like prima donnas or not.

I suppose it's not impossible we might get up there one day but we could never stay there without being bankrolled.

I think we all know which clubs we're talking about when we mention premiershite primadonnas, and those players and clubs are magnitudes richer (and greedier) than Pools would ever be, even bankrolled.
We also have this image of glory hunting supporters randomly choosing a "big" club to follow. Surely none of us on the bunker could be accused of that if we supported Pools in the prem?

So I suppose the answer is yes, I think I could support us in the premiership and still talk of premiershite primadonnas without feeling hypocritical.
I can also appreciate someone who was born and bred in Knotty Ash wanting to support that bunch of overpaid primadonnas who play in Stanley Park.

Cos all seater stadiums are shite.

It would reduce the appeal to me if I had to sit down every match and I would probably go to less games than I currently do.

I've said in the past that I feel fortunate to be supporting a club of our size and playing at our level rather than a Premiership club but it if we did ever get to those heights we'd still all be here and probably loving it! I'm not sure how I'd sit with the 'sugar daddy' scenario though but it's the only way it would be achieved nowadays the days of Wimbledon's consecutive promotions are gone in fact the days of Wimbledon are gone!

It would be interesting to to ask the 1,500 Wigan fans who used to go to Springfield Park how they feel about the football they are watching at the moment, I would be interesting to see if any of them long for the old days.

i'd be there without fail, just like i'd be there if we slipped out of the league.

What's the point of supporting the team otherwise?

Some comments on here truly baffle me sometimes stpid stpid stpid

The thing I love about supporting Pools is that in a crowd of say 4,000 you'll know about 25/30% by sight!!!! :sweeeet:

I would actually hate it if we got in the premiershite in an all-seater stadium with a crowd of 15/20,000....all saying they can remember the days of sub 1,500 etc etc!!!!

I would probably go still....but I would be squirming with rage in my seat!!!! banghead

Aswell as Wigan....Fulham!!!! confised

Unbelieveable! sctatchinghead

Surely, EVERY Pools fan dreams of playing in the top flight some day! It will probably never happen but our raison d'etre as Poolies has got to be to cling on to the faint hope that some day we might just get there?

what is the point otherwise?

I honestly think some peopel are only happy when we are shite. stpid

I want us to win every game, storm through the divisions and be champions of Europe.

Like we are when I play on Championship Manager.

But I would rather that we did it and were allowed to retain the terrace where I stand cos I like it there.

I think some peoples hatred of the premiership is inexplicable.

Yes, the players earn too much, but so what? They're hardly going to complain about it are they? How much money did Paul McCartney earn last year? Have people stopped listening to The Beatles because of this?

For the record, Pools players are paid a decent wage which is a damn sight more than most of us who post on here, yet they have put in many sub-standard performances this season.

Seems like double standards to me

I also don't like all seater stadiums, but ask most fans who sit in the Kop, Stretford end, Gallowgate end etc if they would rather stand and i'm sure they would have a similar reply. Nothing can be done about it unfortunately.

I agree fully with you.

They have safe standing areas in Germany so why not here?

And that sums up what is wrong.....in so many ways.

For gods sake why cant we do something about it?

You can do something about it. You ARE doing something about it.

You're moaning like a bitch about everything at the club and you'll only be happy when they follow your advice.

Which will take us straight down the plug hole until we're non-league and you can stand and reminisce about Cardiff.

Where the present regime took us.

So, in an attempt to redeem yourself, tell us 5 good things about the present day Pools:wink:

Catering not included.

Because young Tom as Ripper says all seater stadiums are sh*te and its not just the football for me its standing with my pals having a laugh and joke were in seated stadiums you end up sat with 2 pals here. 2 pals there you get a bellend in front or behind you winging about every thing and spoiling your day.
And thats the reason i do not travel any more.

Well we aren't allowed to do 'remember when...' any more even though we used to dream of the lofty heights we achieve these days.

Barrow?? Workington?? Southport?? Bradford Park Avenue??

No, Leeds United, Forest, Wednesday....how times change is all.
