....waited up till midnight apparently, to put the covers on the pitch for to-day. That man ought to be promoted

But agreed, all messing apart, the pitch has been like a billiard table for eight seasons now, I spoke with him once. He said 'get off the pitch,' and threatened me with a garden fork. sadx sadx

So the temperature suddenly dramatically changed at midnight as oppose to 10pm?

Was never in any doubt anyway with or without coves.

Too windy before

They were waiting for the wind to drop so the covers wouldn't blow off (According to Poolsworld anyway)
