Whey!
Barker Dropped!
McCunnie and Sweeney starting!
No Elliot!

Might be pretty close to an applaudable selection from DW??

A-ha!! So even DW isn't so daft to realise we will need pace in every part of the pitch tonight - and that line up reflects this. If we can't keep up with them, or even if a single player can't keep up with them, they will exploit it big style.
Even if we don't get the right result, I'm pleased to see he has recognised the fact that Doncaster need to be combatted with a combination of quick and skilful footballers - and at least he has given us the best chance to do that.
More like it Mr Wilson, and someone like Barker could now be used in a battering ram capacity late on in the game if needs be.

No Moore or Boland anywhere. I presume Moore has now gone and Boland's thrown his toys out of the pram. Hope Sweeney can cut out those diagonals!

Swap over Brown and Foley for me. C'mon Pools, there's goals in that team and we could or should also be quite solid at the back... hopefully!

surely McCunnie at right back with Sweeney in the centre??? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Even so, McCunnie lost his man twice for Southend's 2nd and 3rd goals last week, maybe that's what DW is thinking?
Let's see how they line up at kick-off, then.
I do think Doncaster are a different proposition to most teams in League One, and need to be approached accordingly.

We'll get at least a point tonight with that line-up.
Boland isn't good enough, he's a poor version of Thompson imo.
I don't think we'll ever see him or Moore play for Pools again.

I'm more confident now - at least he's given us a chance.
Elliott and Barker would get nowhere in a game against opponents like this.
Barker could be a good sub though, late in the game. That should be how he is put to best use.

Aye surely not McCunnie (a right back) at left midfield.
Players playing in their proper positions is the way forward surely!!
And 4-4-2 is better than 4-3-2-1, ask Mr Ferguson, Wenger, etc.....

Seeing that I'm quite confident now, brown and porter must start up front

Danny Wilson has made two changes to his starting line-up for this evening's game.

Antony Sweeney comes into the eleven and will play at right back, with Jamie McCunnie playing in midfield.

With Gary Liddle and Alan Thompson also starting, Wilson will adopt a 4-3-2-1 formation, with James Brown and David Foley supporting Joel Porter up front.

Richard Barker is named amongst the subs and Stephen Turnbull is recalled to the squad and also starts on the bench.

Nice to see Turnbull there

Just got a text off me dad who's at the match, he says McCunnie's not a midfielder and Sweeneys not a full back....
Why is it so obvious to everyone except for Wilson?!

well, I tried to reason that one out when McCunnie had a bit of a mare at right back last week for their 2nd and 3rd goals. However in isolation, you don't make positional decisions like that based on one game.
Let's face it, Sweeney SCORED last week!!!!
