You know, listening to Pools World can be very telling at times. There were long periods in the game where Simpson was chatting to Michael Maidens as though there was nothing going on on the pitch, which means there probably wasn't.
That suggests to me, along with Pools' 63% possession and the rest of the stats, all of which were in our favour, that there wasn't much of a challenge to rise to.

The pleasing thing is that unlike Shrewsbury we didn't seem to get complacent about it. Which I guess is where your mates Nelson and Clark come in, who unlike Brackstone had nothing really to prove.

I agree with that, he had a good game

At present if he was stood in the box & the ball hit him on the arse it would hit the net though

Dimi 7, his save from Nelson's deflection was quite good. Apart from that, he did fook all, lazy bar steward!

Williams D 7 He did ok, didn't have out to do like but he played quite well.

Brackstone 8. Was unlucky not to score with his volley, was more composed and is becoming the player I know he can be.

Nelson 9 Played well, very, very well. Some well timed tackles.

Clark 9 Same as Nelson. My god, we have got a good defence.

Robson 9 Brilliant, good runs down the left. Set up Daley's goal nicely when he could have shot.

Boland 7 Soaked up the pressure.

Liddle 6 Shame about the injury, who knows how many we'd have scored if he'd have stayed on.

Gibb 7 He seemed a tad quicker and fitter today.

Daly 9 A legendary peformance.

Porter 8 Worked his socks off and yes he did deserve a goal.

Bullock 6 He contributed to the team and did his job. He had a big task of replacing Liddle.

E Williams 7 He looked lively, he's seems to be getting back on track.

Dimi- 7- solid with not much to do
D Williams- 8- he continues to impress
Brackstone- 8- getting better with every game
Clark- 9- immense once more
Nelson- 8- a good game for him
Ali G- booyakashak- 6- quiet again
Liddle- 7- shame he had to go off
Boland- 8- we won the midfield battle and nice set up for goal
Bullock- 7- helped us dominate the midfield area
Robson- 8- surprising what a bit of confidence can do for young players innit
Porter- 8- ran his heart out and showed his class
Daly- 9- MOM for the hat-trick, let down by his team-mates as he might have expected one of them to leather that big dopey centre half for assaulting him
