Why is our defence such a shambles?

Maybe its because we don't have a competent left back at the club? Elliot is a central defender and Humphreys is a midfielder. The other point and I'm becoming more and more convinced of this; the players are simply not good enough for this level. Think about it, our defence only performs against poor teams. The Crewe's and Bournemouths of this world. Put us up against a top ten side and we ship goals.

Yet again the forwards are asked to score three goals away from home in order for us to get a result.

I've now become resigned to a season of drudging banality with the odd highlight...... it's a bit like drowning, once you stop fighting it and accept it, it aint too bad... confised

It's scary isn't it. When Moore put us ahead I remained perfectly calm, no celebration. I knew it would not be enough and was waiting for a second before I could start celebrating a likely point confised sadx

There'd have to be a tribunal and then it would take years because a pressure group like 'Amfisted Defenders International' would take up their case.....

What is up with Nelson? The guy was tremendous for the first two years here, I don't know what's happened to him but he's definitely lost something from his game to make him so prone to errors and being dominated at times by opposing forwards.
Has the game moved on so much in such a short time, that he's now not good enough for League One?

Pools have always been able to field great forwards, wingers (as far as they go these days) and midfielders from the time I have been watching them

Bakes, Allon, Saville, Toman, Honour, Miller, Boyd, Dalton, Cullen and others I have no doubt forget about!

But as far as decent centre backs go, I think I would have to name John Macphail (sp) as the last hard nut defender we had

Not to doubt the likes of Lee and all, but for their size and so forth each one since seem to have been unable to stand up to any real physical pressure from the opposition
