Now that is without doubt the best book about the Clash ever.

May I also recommend Johnny Greens Book, Night and Day, A riot of our own.

Another fantastic read.[/quote]

Yep I'll go along with that,I read Johnny Greens a while back, never got 'last gang in town' though

The Clash, the greatest band ever bar none. Saw 'em about a dozen times and have everything they ever committed to vinyl (with the original line up). I was even convinced that I could see meself in the crowd at the Lyceum gig in the film RUDE BOY. However on multiple viewings it was some other ugly kunt.

Essential viewing for any Clash/real music fan is Westway to the World by Don Letts. IMO the best rock documentary ever.

Joe Strummer, what a legend.

Books about music just plain don't interest me.
Books about the Clash don't either.

currently reading "how black was my sabbath"
brilliant read, written by two of sabbaths longest serving road crew.including how they got nicked in hartlepool in the late 60's for having gas masks in their transit van,the bobbies thought they were terrorists! they were let off for that but charged for having a brown ale label instead of a tax disc.

I don't do pictures....can't you lot read?

Mine are 'Old Filth' By Jane Gardam

and 'Saturday' by Ian McEwan.

Both excellent, but don't read the McEwan if you're squeamish about open cranial surgery

early 1900s Siberia. A Czech army and a load of weirdos who chop their knobs off to prove how devoted they are to God, await and then fight the Commies. Plus they deal with a cannibal in their midsts.

The life of Stuart - thief, hostage-taker, psycho and street raconteur - told backwards.

Waiting on the shelf for me to read:
Paula Spencer by Roddy Doyle. Follow up to one of my favourite ever books. The Woman Who Walked into Doors
The Tribes of Britain
The Damned Utd
