At the start of the season it was said by many that Pools should of invested in a proven keeper but DW took the risk on 2 fairly inexperienced players. Jan has done ok but he was always going to have his moments, what do people expect when we sign him for nothing?

Although he has had his moments I do think he has generally been ok and should not be made the scapegoat for the recent problems......

He's a dodgepot and creates panic which in turn invites pressure, Lee Barrett was 1st choice and did nothing wrong but was left out for the Scunny cup game and has never got back in.
We have changed everything in defence this season to sort out a leaking defence, right back, left back, central defence the lot barring the keeper. banghead

Looking at things it would seem to me that Budtz was brought in with the promise of being No.1 and that all of Wilson's pre season patter was just bull.

Jan has had some very good games, plus it doesn't really seem like Lee-Barrett is exactly knocking on the door with a string of fine performances in the ressies. Remember the Weymouth fans didn't even rate Lee-Barrett so he has a lot to prove.

Most of the goals conceded this season have been down to defensive sloppyness rather than goalkeeping errors.....

He's the new Martin Hollund.

Good saves one minute, dodgy as a French motor the next.

Without slagging off Jan Budtz......can I just say he scares the shiit out of me.

I am not sure why, but every time the ball goes into our box, I think he is gonna fook up.

Probably unfair, but its how I feel.

I wonder though, whether our defenders think the same.

Exactly like when Martin Hollund was in goal.
