I was talking to a very knowledgeable Pools supporter who reckons that we once had to borrow Herefords shirts  Apparantly there was a fire at the Vic after a Watford game (blamed on Elton Johns discarded cigar), and Pools shirts were destroyed. Either Hereford offered or Pools requested the shirts.
Both HUFC!!
Anyone recall this 'cos I don't! :uhoh:

There indeed was a fire at the Vic.

All covered in number 2

Not strictly true but near enough. It was Hereford's first season in the league and after the fire we borrowed the Fire Brigade team's strip of blue shirts and white shorts. Pools at the time coundn't afford to replace the lost kit and while all of our illustrious neighbours stood by and watched Hereford United, league new boys sent us a complete new kit.
