Might I suggest something revolutionary? Play people in their natural positions.

The defence;

McCunnie at right back works.
Clark and Nelson works
Left back, Elliot is a natural experienced left back and hasn't been given a decent run in the team. Stick him in and leave the defence to gel.

Midfield.

Whats up with Monkhouse? If he's fit then play him. If not then the nearest we've got it Matty Robson.
Boland drives the midfield alongside Liddle or Sweeney. On the right, Moore is more than competent.

Forwards.

Barker for all his graft is too immobile for this division we need skill and creativity. Brown and Porter can provide that, just trust me on this one.

Big tip............ stop the favouritism.

I agree with the majority of that Mr I, but I don't think Elliott is the answer. He was useless in the pre-season friendlies and he was useless at the start of the season. He was more like a frightened rabbit than a football player.

Elliott is a very big sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

He must be one of the best if not best paid players at the club, i dont think he's played below the championship in his whole career yet he cant even get on the bench!!

This is one signing we need to question, never mind barker or antwi what's the fecking score with Elliott.

If he had been a forward people would have been up in arms by now sctatchinghead

Elliott was crap 2 preseasons ago when we beat The Mighty Leeds and i still cant imagine what DW saw in him to give him a contract. I bet hes on good money too compared to a lot of the squad.

Agree with everything apart from Elliott.

We're getting fooked all over because we're not playing people in their natural positions.

Butdz

McCunnie
Nelson
Clark
Humphreys

Brown or Moore
Boland/Liddle when he's back
Sweeney
Monkhouse

Porter
Moore or Brown

No pratting about there and with that squad I've only got Brown or Moore playing an unnatural position.

I'm with Mr Gaunt. That has to be our best and most natural team surely.
Pick em, keep em there; give them a chance. That team has to be play-offs I reckon, and that team would play proper football too.
It seems so obvious when you're not picking the team yourself

I'm genuinely concerned that our next league win might not come until the New Year!!!!

A few examples of recent teams that have gone on decent runs and either got us promoted or made the play-offs.

Wilson last season
Konstantopoulos

Barron
Clark
Nelson,
Humphreys

Brown
Liddle
Sweeney (or Boland)
Monkhouse

Barker
Williams

Turners/Newells Promotion winning troops
Williams

Barron
Lee
Westwood
Robinson

Clark
Widdrington
Tinkler
Humphreys

Williams
Richardson (or Boyd)

Coopers Play-off Wonders
Konstantopoulos

Westwood
Nelson
Barron
Robertson (or Robson)

Williams
Tinkler
Sweeney
Humphreys

Porter
Boyd

There's a common link between these recently successful teams. They didn't chop and change, they were used to each other. And most of the players played in their natural positions. You can run these teams off the top of your tongue.

Can anyone names Wilson's most common team from this season?

Pre-season DW said he wanted the fittest team in the division,
because it was no coincidence that the best four teams in the
Premiership were also the fittest.

I think that was his reason for not signing Boyd.
I'm not sure what has happened, but his masterplan seems to
have backfired bigtime.

Sounds like

McCunnie Nolan Clark Humphreys

might be our best back four, if Nelson's current run of form continues.

agree with the rest

one thing about all these messages, is the general consensus that what we are witnessing isn't good enough for Hartlepool United - and if the management continue to sit on their hands in the style of McClaren and England then we are not going to keep quiet about it.
Why should we accept/expect mediocrity?

McCunnie at Right Back!!!! :sweeeet:

Let's have an attacking Midfielder in the middle....Gary Liddle....(Why isn't he allowed to go forward now)???? sctatchinghead

Sorry Mr.Barker....but I can bring the ball down and play it back to the half way line....use your weight and turn....Mr.Brown or Mr.Mckay....show him how to do it!!!!

Mr.Porter doesn't have to show him how to do it....we all know he can do it....but he only gets 5 minutes!!!!

Nelson.... sctatchinghead ....you might be pissed off playing with this shite....but don't get dragged down to the same level....play your game....how we know you can!!!! :sweeeet: :sweeeet:

Player of the Season so far for me....Ben Clark!!!! :sweeeet: :sweeeet: :sweeeet:

The season ahead looks to me like a cold grey, miserable, choppy sea and we're just ploughing our way through it...not so much a 'Voyage of the Damned' as a 'Voyage of the not very hopeful'....
