Is this a player whose time has come?
It sounded like he was bossing it up front today, and those two goals, especially the penner, won't have done his confidence any harm. Getting a serious spell in the first team won't hurt it either.

Maybe for once we have a striker who will come good before we ditch him. Plenty of other good strikers have had mediocre starts to their career, and Jon's still only 23.

To be fair, he was having a fair game againt Shrewsbury till he was subbed.
As you say, this could be the start of a bit of form from the big man......as long as the crowd stay off his back rage

I dont get on his back. I encourage him. But unlike a canny few it seems, I thought he was pretty crap last Saturday, usual self.
However, well done to the lad and I'll be encouraging him as usual next home match.
Lets hope he's getting confidence and has turned the corner.

I was just imagining that scene after Simpson said much the same thing on Pools World:

"Look just give us the fukken ball roight.
Tanks, now fuuck off."

(places the ball)

"Get fukken in you shoitin' bollocks!"

While Simpson shouts "and Jon Daly shows them how it's done!"

I will admit though that I was seriously worried when he said it was big Jon who was taking it.

A few weeks ago, I'm sure I heard someone say he was our 8th best penalty taker on Pools World.

He's done us proud over the last few weeks.
