How do you get them out?
I used to get rid by playing over the clicks at 78, over and over again, but my present turntable doesn't have 78.

Records. I call them LPs but you lot seem to say 'vinyl' so I was trying to fit in

You know when you get a click...when the record gets stuck? well, on an old turn-table you could 'iron' it out by playing the record very slowly on 78rpm, but on a modern turntable you can't.

Really, you young things know nothing

Is that similar to a scratch?

Can you not repair it with a nail file or a bit of french polishing?

No problem.

I'm sure if my suggestions don't work then Mr ADG will be along shortly and he'll have some useful tips.

Hi Grabec,

I think you might have to be above a certain age to answer your question, so don't let the "kids" upset you too much!

I recall that another way of getting rid of clicks or scratches was to play the record with a small coin or two placed on the top of the stylus arm. I remember trying it years ago and it worked.

True, but those LPs have been with me a long time now. I can't just throw them away when they need me most!
