Er... I wanted England to win!!!

OK they were a big steaming pile of dung crap useless abject no-hope pooh and deserved to lose. But that doesn't stop me
wanting them to win.
If everyone wants rid of McLaren and all the premiershit players fair enough, I'm not going to argue with that, but surely it would have been better if they'd left their successors something to play for wouldn't it?

I did too, even though I had cash on the oppo to win, I just felt England would be up to it, especially playing only one up front to start

I was crying with laughter in the first half!!!! rolfl

Must admit my fingernails took some hammering in the 2nd half....I thought the flash mediocre tvvats were gonna' nick it....but alas....the best team won!!!! :sweeeet: :sweeeet:

The only downer for me tonight....my mate from work who usually puts my bets on put £20 on Croatia at 7/1 and he never told me!!!! banghead

But I'm getting 10 snodgers off him tomorrow after I bet him that England wouldn't qualify after the Home game against Russia in September!!!! :sweeeet:

I just hope to God that that is the last we see of Beckham and he doesn't get his 100th Cap!!!! :sweeeet:

You miss the point...if they'd qualified, we'd still have had the same bunch of over paid mediocrities led by that grinning drone with the wonky haircut lording it big while their permatanned camp followers showed us all up by spending the equivalent of a third world nations income on girlie tat... Their so called successors would still be in the wings......
THIS IS A BLESSING, A CHANCE TO START ANEW .... which I suspect will not be grasped.
THis is gonna cost big bucks and big treats for everyone from celebrity mags, to TV coverage to your local bar........ the list is endless

Can anyone who has played football at a reasonable level explain to me when it is a good idea to play one up front?

When you don't want to win.

No , really.

When a win would be a bonus that you're not really hoping or expecting to get then one up top is how you might play it.

Keep it tight and maybe nick a goal somewhere or hold out for a draw.
