Seeing as we are not beside the Tees then no we are not in Teesside, it's simple really

We are not on the bank of the river Tees therefore not Teesside, that's Middlesbrough and Stocktons privilege.

Greatham Creek runs into the Tees - North Gare, the Power Station/Graythorp are at the very tip of the town's borough but nobody actually lives anywhere near any of that.
The town's closest residential areas to the River Tees are the estate next to Elizabeth Way and across the railway lines the back end of Greatham. Greatham is the nearest geographically, but to drive to the Tees from there would be quite some distance because of the road layout.
In essence Elizabeth Way is the closest by car, approx three quarters of a mile from the most northerly tip of the Tees by the power station.
So not by any stretch of the imagination does the Tees border any of Hartlepool's residential areas.

Salty, read too much of that stuff and you'll go very, very blind. Once I saw who'd written it, I realised it couldn't be taken too seriously and was merely the ramblings of the mentally deficient scribbled onto paper, translated into a sort of English by missionaries and put on the old 'electric etch a sketch'
NOW...for the two Quisling Poolie scumbags who dared to reveal their sordid addiction to the borers......I think a witch-hunt is entirely justified  ................................

If you look at a map of the area, you'll see that Hartlepool is fairly isolated and doesn't have many villages surrounding it....usually a fault of geography or the histotical action of land owners with estates that buffered the town from development As a cosequence, we have actually become self sufficient over the years to the extent where we become independent. We mustn't also forget we are a sea port, this makes such people historically more inclined to look further afield along the coast for contact . The result is a an independent mindset.
I had a boss who said Hartlepool people are....."SO BLOODY AWKWARD, THEY WILL ARGUE WITH YOU FOR NO REASON AND LOOK DOWN ON YOU"..... rolfl
