Mr Smith, what was the story, his wife was a lawyer or something and they bought/built one of the huge houses next to the throston golf course, the name escapes me.

Then he went to Sheffield Wednesday with Chris Turner, picked up a raft of injuries, made a move to kidderminster according the soccerbase and appear just three times as a sub.

A quality play when fit, how many times do you hear that phrase!

Ah, Worset Lane, millionnaires row!!

One of the best wingers I've ever seen at pools (for a year).

Was part of the pools revival season, when him n Watson signed as we we're bottom and helped drag us up the league.

Him and Coppinger swapping wings was a joy to watch.

By the way Paul Smith now plays for Sheffield FC, and just a fortnight ago was part of their side that played Inter Milan in front of 19,000 at Bramall Lane to celebrate the club's 150th anniversary.

Also on Sheffield's books is this lesser known former Poolie.....

Andy Brownrigg!

Bloody hell, I went to that and never knew Paul Smith was playing.

It was actually Andy Brownrigg himself in Razzle or some similar mag. When he played for a non league side, the mag sent one of their girls round to "look after the lads" in the showers after the match and Brownrigg is pictured in full glory.

:uhoh: I got him to sign a copy at the player of the year do :uhoh:
