the 4 reading players currently on loan at bournemouth are payed for in full by reading as long as they play in the first team, all 4 played yesterday, including the goalscorer. a feeder club in all but name,3rd party interference anyone?

If you could get 4 decent players in on loan what positions would you want?

Goalkeeper, central midfielder, winger and forward?

Giving us a potential team of;

GK Loan player
RB McCunnie
LB Humphreys
CB Clark
CB Nelson or Antwi
RM Moore
CM Liddle or Sweeney
CM Loan player
LM Loan player
CF Porter
CF Loan player

?

Brown COULD do a good job up front with Porter.

But even if he did we are still thin on the ground in that position cos Barker and Foley are not good enough and Moore is better wide right.

Brown & Porter are a fiercesome 40+ goals a season partnership that hasn't been allowed to happen yet.

They COULD be if given a chance.

We'll only know for sure IF they're given a chance.

nope.just don't get the Joel Porter love in at all.
I agree he'd play better with a more mobile partner but still.

dawlish watch our goal again yesterday. we dont have another player that could get the ball in the position joel did, turn and look up in the same movement, and have both the vision and ability to pick out what was a great angled run from moore.

that was pure class, moore had defenders either side of him. the ball was perfect, the run was perfect. moore anticipated the ball and porter anticipated the run. it was a very rare example of 2 of our players being on the same wavelength in a dangerous area.

you play the same ball into barker and he will keep it with his back to goal, slow down play, and lay it off backwards. if he was in moores position when joel got the ball he would not have had the speed of thought or body to get into a goalscoring position.

playing balls up to porter in the air is pointless. playing him up front with a virtual statue is virtually pointless.

i dont know if porter/moore or porter/brown is the answer up front, but where is the harm in at least giving it a go ?

I won't disagree either

i know it comes across like im anti barker but im not. the bloke tries his heart out every game and you cant ask more than that. and there is no doubting he is an effective lower league target man who has his uses.

but at the moment danny wilsons insistence that he has to play every minute of every league game is leaving him open to the fans scorn, which isnt fair.

barker is doing his best. i dont blame him in any way. continuing with him for 90 minutes against a tall centre half was just wilson being pigheaded.

ffs try something different every once in a while, we have played successfully without a 6 foot centre forward in the past.

I agree.

Teams must love coming to the Vic, over the last ten years we must have one of the best home records in the country. It's now too easy coming here.

The teams beating us are cack too but I'm getting sick of saying 'what did their keeper actually do'.

We're just not testing keepers every match though, Morecambe's did nothing on Tuesday and as stupid as it sounds even Gainsborough's didn't do much hence all the 'the scoreline flattered you' comments which were totally true.

We get in the area and we sh*t ourselves, Foley did it yesterday when he was through, Joel did it a couple of times and Brownie was the same. Moore skinned their defender on the byline in the second half yesterday and it went out for a throw.

Defensively I thought he did OK yesterday, Budtz didn't do much and if we had any kind of penetration in the box we'd have come away with all 3 points.
