Gibb was OK yesterday, a six would merit an average performance, would it not.......?

He did all that was asked of him, tackled when required, cleared the ball when needed, crossed it when he had to

As far as I can see he only problem is he's playing there when Mcunnie should be

And why does Wilson need to explain why he dropped Ben, when he is now back in the team, it history now try and get over it, it's not worth losing weight, er I mean sleep over

Budtz- 5- still not good enough at crosses or kicking
Gibb- 7- did well
Humphreys- 6- not as bad as some on here are making out
Nelson- 3- woeful again
Clark- 8- had to carry Nelson again
Moore- 7- played well
McCunnie- 6- nowt flash but ok
Boland- 6- same as McCunnie
Brown- 6- lazy sod left Humphreys exposed repeatedly jogging back as though he is too good to defend
Barker- 4- not his fault, he's just not good enough
Porter- 8- made goal and looked our best threat in attack
Foley- 5- being able to run fast doesn't make him a footballer
Sweeney- 6- not long enough to really do owt

I see a few allies in my assertion on Foley. He will never get us goals, he can't take the ball past a defender nine times out of ten, taking off Porter who had already showed creativity for the goal was plain stpid
Porter is EXACTLY the type of player who can win it for you with a piece of skill, either setting up or scoring himself. The forward line of Barker and Foley has to be the worst possible combination of all of our potential pairings.

Bringing Foley on ahead of Makay confused me a bit, he would have put that chance away definately

Anyone forgetting Barker running back 60 yards to tackle Bournmouths Henry on the edge of the box ? He deserves more than a 3 or 4.

When exactly does the awesome Joel Porter do that?

This is a team game, not an individual one. Barker is a good team player and very rarely puts a foot wrong. Hes also our topgoalscorer. He may have scored a lot of penalites, but you can ask Sweeney and Humphreys how easy it is to score a penalty under pressure.

Or perhaps Brown/Tinkler etc who missed loads at the start of last season and cost us many points.

I thought Gibb, was playing too far up the pitch.
Nelson seemed to be having to come across to the right, to cover for the missing Gibb.

Maybe it's just his inexperience at playing at the back. time will tell,
because I'm sure it's not the last time we will se him playing there

I agree, Foley added nothing to the game. He comes on as what I now regard as the novelty player, much as Istead used to, with 20 minutes to go in the vain hope of a wonder run or a penalty. It's 4 years since his debut and his physical limitations are gonna get no better...if your that size you need determintion and a nasty streak, I don't see that. the late run might have been more productive if he'd been able to compete physically, but he couldn't. Pity.

Aye but Jon Daly didn't score lots of goals consistently every season, and most of his goals came in a wonder week.

And who scored most goals in that record breaking run??

Case closed.
