...The lady's called Glenda Slagg, fictional contradictary columnist in the Private Eye. She'd have been well at home here in the past few weeks.... she works like this...

Pools...dontcha just hate em, with their relgation courting football and their gormless manager a waffling and warbling bollox while the club sinks further down thw league, Well it's not good enough Wilson and if you don't get your act together and take my advice you're gonna get the order of the big boot big time, supervised by yours truly, geddit?...YOU WILL IF DON'T GIVE US WHAT WE WANT AND GIVE US IT NOW. No more defeats Danny boy if you know what's good for you...!!!

Pools, dontcha just love em, a slick team of footballing hunks who are tearing this division apart with their sexy, powerful mandingo football. Danny, or should it be footballing genius, (you can explain the finer points to me any time) Wilson you are leading us to the promised land with your footballing genius and tactical nous. can anything be as good as this ... ever etc, etc, etc,

LOOK FAMILIAR.....

If we manage a good score against Grimsby, by which I mean three goals or more (and providing we don't ship three!) it could be the trigger for a lot more goals to follow. If you can keep the momentum up for just two or three games it does wonders for your confidence. I've seen it so many times in the past.
E.g., at the end of our promotion system Wrexham had been going through an average spell but then won three on the trot then suddenly started destroying teams for fun. In our first season after promotion, Plymouth made a sluggish start then suddenly scored about twenty goals in five games and never looked back.

Even if we only create the average number of chances we have done so far this season, provided we're as incisive as we were on Saturday, it can happen.

I'm not saying it will but it's about time it did!

well im going there thinking 0-0 would be a reasonable result. anything on top of that would be a bonus.

Aren't you looking forward to chanting "we want nine! we want nine!"

Realistically, I'll settle for a draw, but a win would be the icing on the cake.

Which will do as long as we beat Wrexham after that. But should we not beat Wrexham and/or Grimsby then its one step forward and two steps back.

I hate these people whose cup is always have empty.
..or even two steps forward....

Building up a bit of momentum possibly?

Back to back wins

4 wins in the last 6 games (in the league)

1 defeat in the last 7 games (all competitions)

Got to start feeling a bit optimistic - havent we?
