The AA route finder quotes 2 hours from the depths of Essex to the City Ground, just over 100 miles away. It took me nearly that long to get to Leyton Orient about 45 miles away and the same time to get to North London yesterday.
London is awful. No wonder they are going to spend all that money on new underground rail links - no one would want to spend much time on the surface there.

I agree. I was really disappointed when I re-visited London recently after a long while away. Not so long ago it used to be a beautiful, fascinating city...now just dirty, noisy and soulless

I hope so - half man half mole half biscuit - yes I know that's one and a half men. Doomed to eternally dwell in the half world that is London Underground.
