If you elongate the names into 2 syllables each it does,Be(pause)en Cla(pause)ark.
Footy crowds have been making names fit like that for years.

this can be the only reason why Ben Clark is not playing, unless theres something else we dont know about

it's crossed my mind that Scotty may in fact be an associate of DW, and since Scott returned to the north east in his coaching role at Boro, Clark has not figured at Pools. Tale-telling perhaps during a couple of covert meetings between the two? Who knows? I think I might want to know what went wrong last time we were relegated if I was DW, as he might want to hear all sides of the story. So DW might be thinking to himself - who better to ask than the ex-manager, who I would imagine would be quite easy to get in touch with?
