Pension up

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

The new flat-rate state pension - for those who reached state pension age after April 2016 - is expected to increase to £241.05 a week. That will take it to £12,534.60 a year, a rise of £561.60 compared with now.4.7% increase.

With the tax threshold being £12570 and it will be until 2028 means you will end up paying tax on the basic State Pension in the near future.

There’s bugger all great about pensions in the UK when compared with the rest of Europe.
Also why doesn’t every pensioner who’s paid their NI contributions get the same pension instead of each new years set of pensions getting more than the preceding years pension…?
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.
