YORK SACK MANAGER

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Bizarre either sack him the end of last season or give him some games this season

Some teams are so frantic to go up this year that they are losing perspective

I'm hoping their new manager doesn't recall Cameron John, I'm not sure how loan deals work.

4 games into a new season unbeaten and after amassing 96 points under him last season. Wonder who they've got lined up but very much doubt he'll be a better option.

York must have someone lined up, so long as it is not SG!

Ridiculous…… if I was the replacement, I’d only book an hotel room in case it doesn’t work out.
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

Stuart Maynard appointed as manager, who was sacked by Notts County in May following defeat to Wimbledon in their League 2 Play-Off Semi Final.

To be honest - being a football manager has never been a steady job. I'll be amazed if this new bloke can get 96 points on the board for York by the end of the season though.

It can be very lucrative, how many ex footballers have made more money from being sacked with compo or NDA. Although not all in the same league Mourinho has made around £80 million from being sacked. A football manager is probably the only job where you get sacked and get compo for failure. Next could be Russell Martin on a 3 year deal at Rangers, fans have already turned against him, if Rangers don’t get a decent result against Celtic on Sunday he could be gone.

Has the ex York manager failed though? They had a good season last year, the fans liked him, he built a good team.

Quite often managers don’t get a payout when they get sacked, their monthly wage cheque just keeps coming in meaning they can be paid by two, or even three clubs at any one time.

Kerching!

in any other league in england above he,d have been in charge of an unbeaten newly promoted side. even raj would have given him till november. be a few more across the country hoping york will crash and burn now.

I had a ding dong at York a few years back. We couldn’t get access to the seats we had tickets for because they’d done some last minute changes. We were pushed from pillar to post, nobody was bothered. As they don’t own the stadium we were just sort of fobbed off, along with maybe 30-40 others. We nearly missed kick off and I was fuming.

I wrote to complain too, and that was unsatisfactory as well.

Not a well run club, not a friendly club either.

Yup.

A bit more re York.

At first they sent an email saying “we are sorry, blah blah, what can we do blah blah, we’ll offer you this as a goodwill gesture”

Then about ten minutes later they cancelled that email email and changed their mind to tough luck.

I ran out of steam then but it left a bad taste.

The York fans aren't happy so that'll do for me.

Hope they drop more points while the new manager is finding his feet.

Think its know he was approached before the other left.
York fans are saying he had a falling out with the Chairman a while back, So there was only ever going to be one outcome

Back on track with a 4 0 win last night.

Id say we in for a very tough game next month.

Unless we recruit sharpish.
