Fecking Hosepipe

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Fecking Hosepipe

Our lass wanted one of the expandable hose pipes for her greenhouse, so I bought one…two days later…it’s spraying out water from two holes. I cut the pipe piece of metal tubing two jubilee clips …back to normal…next day, two more ( getting pissed off now) repairs it, working ok.
Happens again, fix it…..decide I’m taking it back……so it’s going back but can I repair it for to use to use it ….ok
Sat down the garden last night and one of sons came down and asked him to turn the water off on his way…the wife opened the hose to release the pressure and the hose came to life like a snake ..,Ruby with teeth like bayonets, lunged at it, shook it like a rat and let go when the water came out…..she owes me for six jubilee clips and labour.
That’s £24 I won’t get back.
It’s what he does….. he’s a terrier.

Funny thing is, our car occasionally gets a blast off the Karcher to take mud off but never used any cleaning or polishing agents on it and comes up like new every time sctatchinghead

Down the garden this morning with one of my sons and as we were talking he pointed out ratboy was crawling on his belly stalking a wood pigeon on the ground between two apple trees…all of a sudden my son banged an hammer on the incinerator bin and we had one relieved bird and one livid terrier…my son said he had to do it as clearing the mess up would be a pain in the arse…he was right

Pools need a new midfielder.
Can she tackle go past defenders n put good crosses in.

If yes then agent her to Rochdale for a better wage than Pools.

Apparently water companies are investigating increasing tariffs for water meters during warm weather…..they’ll doubtless have other ideas to pump money out of the their customers.

I'll be ready when it comes..the rain dance ritual i performed in the garden didn't seem to work..At least the grass verges in our town which only get 2 cuts a year now in April and October are only 2 or 3 foot high.

I have made a smart move today and went to B&Q and bought 50 hosepipes before the ban comes in here.

What gets me is that failing water companies continue to pay dividends to shareholders yet want to raise prices because they are losing money.
I accept that they have to pay interest on the huge loans that they have taken out but there should be a ban on paying shareholders from water rates income when they need to pay for massive improvements to the service.

Water companies have been taking on significant debt to finance dividend payouts, rather than investing the money back into infrastructure or other improvements.
When privatized, these companies had little to no debt. However, they have increasingly borrowed to maintain dividend payments, resulting in a substantial rise in overall debt

I am just waiting for the south to start squealing about the lack of water and wanting our water to be pumped down to them.
Yes ok but if it happens we need another pipe by the side of it pumping money in the opposite direction.

We have Kielder built to supply what was thought going to be a booming industrial era in the N.E. Water goes into the North Tyne river, from where it can be transferred to other rivers, including the River Wear and River Tees, via the Kielder Transfer Scheme. This regional system helps maintain water levels in these rivers for areas like Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, and Middlesbrough, ensuring a reliable water supply and supporting ecosystems during periods of low rainfall.
Correct me if I am wrong Kielder doesn’t actually directly supply domestic water, there was talk of building a pipeline down south from Kielder but that never it materialised.
I did once work on a water treatment plant north of Newcastle, I am sure they took water from the Tyne and treated it making it suitable for consumption. Bearing in mind the amount of chemicals which were added to it could put you for life drinking tap water.
