Pools 11 are the better team but the collection of a soft yellow is unacceptable however bad the ref is. Professional players are paid to do their best for the club and they cannot do that if they are spectating having been sent off.
If we keep 11 on the park we should not lose.

Well on the plus side we were quick as fuck, our goaly was good. Lacked a bit of quality upfront and not much on the bench . Still entertaining game , quick and physical from both teams

Pools went right off the boil after Grayson made his first substitutions. Looks like we may need more quality from the bench, but it's very early days - 8 of Pools starting 11 weren't with us last season.

Reid and Johnson both showed enough quality to suggest they will get in amongst the goals, no bother. Aaron McLean off DAZN reckons Reid is a decent outside bet for the NL's top goalscorer - and he knows a bit about that, he won that title himself!

Think all 3 of Yeovil's bookings were for fouls on Francis, so the ref woke up eventually.

Yeh the squad depth worries me--no subs that dont make us a lot worse in terms of midfield or going forward, one or two injuries as the games pile up and we will be in trouble

1 game in and he's decided Yeovil are the worst team in the division and we're not good enough to make the play offs (I presume he's got 22 telly's and dodgy sticks wall mounted to have reached that conclusion).
Far too early to assess the squad and division imo, btw after York only drew at home are they out of the running for the play offs too?

Southend manager did a good job though, everyone knows Gateshead's style of play and their pressing game was spot on, 5 players pressing the defenders in the Heeds half for the 2nd goal. Many teams would've parked the bus a goal up away from home.

reid is an odd player. saw him when he was at stockport and at times looked totally clueless but then did something nobody in the crowd expected and nobody else on the pitch was capable of doing. can see him really splitting the fans in there opinion of him.

I know loyal is getting a bit of flak but think he is just being realistic . IMO we played ok yesterday and with a bit of luck we could have taken 3 points. Grayson likes a pacy team which is good but as loyal says running a team on a budget makes things very difficult to get in to the playoffs. We only have a decent squad of about 13 to 14 players at the moment and the way we play injuries will pile up. So this means going down the usual route of loanees which imo severely weakens the team. It’s all a bit of an illusion really. Can’t fault the performance yesterday though plenty of endeavour and physicality

like many others who seem to think its a demand from the authorities to do it. if they do not do a gateshead it ends up after many sideways passes a big hoof forward anyway which the keeper could have done at the outset without the team putting themselves in danger. gateshead will certainly not be the only one who cocked things up last weekend,

we,ll have to set up a go fund me page for the players. they get cautions now for non offences and ones where a free kick would be given but they never even get spoken to about the foul. it isn,t just us its the rest of the league an is the reason we need as big a squad as we can have. managers know quite well before a game a few will receive cautions and you get games now with 8 in the book and you watch a really tame game. too easy to say just get on with the game if you have been clattered and an opponent gets away with it. some of these decisions we see would make a bishop kick in a stained glass window.
